The Boost to Get EcoSport Started

2018 Ford EcoSport

Ford has introduced a new subcompact SUV that will make its way to the market to compete with a crowded market that features at least one nameplate from every brand that Ford put forth against every year.

This crowded segment is where we seem to be heading for models that feel like they’re built right off the compact sedans. We enjoy driving these compact SUVs giving us more space inside for the cargo and the drive. To make sure this new model is successful, Ford has given it a boost to get going for the journey. This new model offered by Ford for the subcompact crossover SUV market is called the EcoSport to be a small SUV that has the Ford personality desired.

This little model is a non-hybrid crossover SUV that will have a base power offering of a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. That gives you 123 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft of torque. The upgraded engine will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 167 horsepower and 149 lb.-ft of torque. The only transmission used for this vehicle is a six-speed automatic, making this an easy model to select.

More of What You Want in a Small Package

For the larger engine, you’ll have four-wheel traction as part of the SES package of the EcoSport. With this little SUV, you can get where you need to go. All while having a vehicle that’s efficient and effective for you. Rather than give us another hatchback for the drive, Ford chose to go small with the EcoSport. Allowing us the opportunity to have an SUV that offers the driving characteristics and build we want. To get you more excited about what the EcoSport has to offer, the base model, which is the S trim, will be priced at $20,990, but that price will drop for you once you factor in the rebates and customer cash offered.

There is $2,750 worth of incentives for you to take off this price. If you happen to purchase the EcoSport for the money, you’ll be able to reduce the cost by an additional $500. It gives you even more discounts. The rebates and discounts are available across all the trims, which are S, SE, Titanium, and SES. Is the Ford team nervous about what the new EcoSport will be in the market? Or are they worried it won’t be received well? That’s not the car at all.

As demands for small and active SUVs increase, Ford is giving this impressive little model a quick jump for the sales. They are offering excellent reductions in the price to make it more affordable. Placed below the Escape when it comes to size, the EcoSport may be the model the future for the developing EV technology in SUVs for Ford. But, for now, we can enjoy it as an excellent model to drive.
